Orthognathic Surgery
In certain more severe situations, some Westbury patients may need Orthognathic Surgery — also known as corrective jaw surgery – to fully correct their bite. The procedure consists of the bones of the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. The jaws can be lengthened, shortened, moved up or down, or in or out. This ultimately solves both functional and aesthetic issues.
Because orthognathic surgery is complex and involved, it requires a team approach of both an orthodontist and oral surgeon to complete. When you or your child visits us for this procedure, our highly-skilled Orthodontist will team up with an equally qualified surgeon to figure out your needs and create a thorough plan.
At Brush Hollow Orthodontics, we work tirelessly to ensure that we handle your pre- and post-surgical Orthodontic treatment properly. Our orthodontist works closely with the oral surgeon to monitor you and help guide you through the process of Orthognathic Surgery.
